               Funeral Services For Mrs. Riner Held Tuesday
 Funeral services for Mrs. J. N. Riner, age 83, were held at Brown Memorial 
Baptist Church at 3pm Tuesday, Oct. 6, with Elder C. H. Redford of Fitzgerald 
in charge assisted by the Rev. R. C. Smith. Interment was in Westview Cemetery.
 Mrs. Riner died Sunday morning after four months illness. She had been making 
her home in a nursing home in Atlanta recently. She was born in Emanuel 
County, but lived in Johnson County for 45 years prior to moving to Atlanta 
four years ago. She was a member of the Wrightsville Primitive Baptist Church 
where she was very active in church work until the time of her illness.
 Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Henry Lovett of Atlanta, Mrs. Lowery 
New of Wrightsville, Mrs. Charles Downs of Sandersville, and Mrs. Phillip 
Rowell of Atlanta; one son, Woodrow J. Riner of Otis Field, Mass.; six 
grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Moore and 
Mrs. Enoch Deriso, both of Augusta; one brother, Willie Thompson of Augusta.
 Active pallbearers were Linton Smith, Carl Davis, Ray Outlaw, Adolph Soell, 
James Sheppard, and Junior Outlaw.
 The honorary escort included L. E. Fasker Jr., V. R. Blount, W. L. Thompson, 
Lewis Lovett, Claxton Clark, Virgil Mosley, Burt L. Price, Grady Brantley, Dr. 
J. G. Brantley, J. Monroe Cook, Joe Tucker, and Clay Chester.
 Kent Funeral Home was in charge.

Nora was born 25 May 1881 to William Warren Thompson and Sarah Riner. Georgia 
death certificate #026283.
