Riner Funeral services for Mr. James Daniel Riner, of Meeks, brother of Mr. J. Nat Riner, former tax collector of the county, were held from Oaky Grove yesterday afternoon with the Elder S. M. Claxton of Swainsboro, officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. He succumbed of a heart attack suffered after an illness of about a year. He was in his 69th year. Mr. Riner as born and reared in Meeks and had lived there all of his life. He was a farmer by occupation. He was a member of the Baptist church and in 1910 was married to the former Miss Mary Canady. Survivors include Mrs. Riner, three sons, C. E. Riner, Adrian Rt. 3, Collidge Riner, US Navy, and Russell Riner of Meeks; three daughters, Mrs. Melvin Lawson of Swainsboro, Mrs. E. R. Mimbs of Meeks, and Miss Lois Riner of Warner Robins; two brothers, J. Nat Riner and L. A. Riner of Adrian; two sisters, Miss Mary E. Riner and Mrs. Viola Tyson of Meeks.
