The funeral was held at 3pm Monday at Sardis Primitive Baptist Church, Elder Reid B. Davis and Elder Remer Spivey officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Riner was a native of Emanuel County and was a member of Sardis Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Alice Braswell and Lois Scott, both of Swainsboro and Myrtice Mimbs of Meeks; a son, Russell Riner of Meeks; and a sister, Daisy Newton of Swainsboro. Pallbearers were Glenn Skinner, R. H. Skinner, Ralph Foskey, Palmer McGee, Harry Martin, and John Powell. Shadowlawn Mortuary of Swainsboro had charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: Mary Alice was born 1 Aug 1895 to Berry Canady and Sara Ann Edenfield. Her husband was James Daniel "Dee" Riner who is also buried at Sardis Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
