Sammons of 415 E. 45th Street died Saturday. He was a native of Johnson County, Georgia and had lived in Jacksonville since 1927. He was a barber many years at Temple Barber Shop downtown. He was a member of East 44th Street Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Della T. Sammons; four sons, Lewis H., Raymond L., Homer K. and Robert W. Sammons; one sister, Mrs. Anna Jones; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11am Tuesday in the Chapel of Corey Kerlin Funeral Home, North, 1426 Rowe Avenue with Rev. David Rich officiating. Pallbearers are H. C. Mintz, James Johns, J. H. Bowden, O. R. Haines Jr., C. E. Peeples, and J. H. Reynolds. Entombment will be in Evergreen Gardens Clositer Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia Foundation. Additional Comments: Louis was born 20 Nov 1896. His parents, Jeremiah Thomas Franklin "Dick" Sammons is buried in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery in Soperton, Georgia and Martha Elizabeth Snider Sammons is buried in Union Hill Church Cemetery in Johnson County, Georgia. Della, his wife, is also buried in Evergreen.
