                        Sammons Rites Held
 KITE -- Funeral services for melvin Sammons, 65 of Kite, were held at 3PM 
Monday at Gumlog Primitive Baptist Church near Kite with the Rev. Roy Crist and 
Elder Jack Holder officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
 Mr. Sammons died Saturday in a Swainsboro hospital.
 A former resident of Wadley, he was a native of Johnson County.
 Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Naomi Sammons; a daughter, Mrs. Glynn Watkins 
of Albany; a son, Barney Sammons of Wadley; and a sister, Mrs. Slim Perdue of 
Batesburg, SC.
 Pallbearers were William Norris, Harmon Norris, Edward Greenway, H. E. Henry, 
Hubert Brantley, and T. J. Howell.
 

Additional Comments:
Malvin was born 5 Feb 1906 to William M. "Uncle Billy" Sammons and Fannie 
Sefronia "Fronie" Dixon Sammons, both buried Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery in 
Soperton, Ga.
