(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net March 30, 2009, 5:10 pm The Wrightsville Headlight 4-21-1960 Front Page Funeral Services For Mrs. Smith Held On April 17th Mrs. Idella Smith, 84, died at her home near Adrian, on Thursday night, April 14th. A daughter of the late George Foskey and Mrs. George Ann Pope Foskey, she had lived most of her life in Johnson County. She was married to Ashley Mimbs and after his death was married to the late Lee Smith. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. Funeral services were conducted at three o'clock Sunday, April 17th, from Smith Chapel Church, with Elder Gus E. Walden officiating. Burial was in the Foskey Cemetery. Surviving are two sons, Clayton and Felder Mimbs of Adrian; one daughter, Rosa Foskey of Wrightsville; one step son, Elmer Smith of Adrian; four sisters, Mrs. Lula Rowland of Wrightsville, Mrs. Annie Brantley of Dublin, Mrs. Okelar Mimbs of Alma, and Mrs. Clara Mimbs of Adrian; 16 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren. Sammons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: Idella was born 1-9-1876 to George Aaron Foskey and Georgian Pope Foskey. Her first husband, Ashley H. Mimbs is also buried in the Foskey cemetery.
