Smith, 76, of Route 1 Adrian, were held Monday, June 7, in the Corinth Methodist Church with the Rev. Inman Gerrald and the Rev. Lonnie Smith officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers were I. L. Lawson, Herman Kitchens, Benny Carroll, Rastus Mimbs, Russell Mimbs, and C. Tyson. Mrs. Smith was a native of Johnson County, a housewife, and a member of the Sardis Baptist Church. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Hubert Mathis of Adrian, Mrs. Newborn Knight of Wrightsville, Mrs. Homer Meeks of Jesup, and Mrs. Mary Sheppard of Swainsboro; two sons, jim Smith of Florida and Benny L. Smith of Wrightsville; one brother, Melvin Hall of Kite; and one sister, Mrs. Martha Williams of Milledgeville; fifteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Stanley Funeral Home was in charge. Additional Comments: Mamie was born 7 Mar 1895 to Henry Samuel "Sam" Hall and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Tyson Hall. Georgia death certificate #017389. Her husband was Benjamin Duncan "Ben" Smith who is also buried at Corinth Methodist Church Cemetery.
