                        Mr. James Duncan Smith
 Mr. James Duncan Smith died Sunday, June 22 in an Augusta Hospital after an 
extended illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 24 at 10am from the 
Emanuel Assembly of God Church. Interment was in the Foskey family cemetery.
 Survivors are his wife, Annie Pauline Smith of Scott; four sons, James L. 
Smith, Wallace Smith. Bennie D. Smith of Wagner, SC, Harry Duncan Smith of 
Columbia, SC; one brother, Benny Layron Smith of Scott; four sisters, Maurine 
Meeks, Albertis Mathis, Mary Eulene Sheppard, and Mattie Mae Knight, 
Wrightsville. 
 Pallbearers were Herman Kitchens, John Powell, Edwin Knight, J. E. Holden, 
Hildred Meeks, and Lamar Sheppard.
 Stanley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

NOTE--SSDI shows his DOD as Jun 1980 and the death certificate shows 29 Jun 
1980 as well as the cemetery book listing; however, the obituary shows the DOD 
as 22 Jun 1980. Also the death certificate on Ancestry shows DeKalb as the 
place of death and the obituary shows Richmond County.

Additional Comments:
James was born 5 Apr 1914 to Benjamin Duncan "Ben" Smith and Mary 
Elizabeth "Mamie" Hall Smith. Georgia death certificate #020723.
