                                                   C. A. Smith Sr.
 Charles Albert Smith Sr., 70, died Friday at a local hospital.
 The funeral will be at 3pm Sunday at Stuhr's North Area Funeral Chapel. Burial 
will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens.
 Mr. Smith was born Sept. 7, 1905 at Scott, Ga. He was a member of Friendship 
Baptist Church and was a retired employee of the South Carolina Electric and 
Gas Co.
 Surviving are his wodow, Mrs. Delma (actually Velma) Johnson Smith of 
Charleston; five daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Corcoran of North Charleston, Mrs. 
Geraldine Stachewicz of Goose Creek, Mrs. Patrick Puckett of Charlotte, NC, 
Mrs. Deborah Jones of haynes City, Fla. and Mrs. Judy Minter of Hanahan; four 
sons, Charles Smith of Hanahan, Stanley Smith of Aiken, and John Smith and 
Richard Smith, both of Goose Creek; 24 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

His parents were Oscar Lee Smith and Victoria Dora Spell
