(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net November 27, 2010, 6:47 am The Macon Telegraph 1-7-1962 Mrs. Lincy Sammons Tyson Funeral services for Mrs. Lincy Sammons Tyson, 74, who died Friday at her residence, 1107 Oglethorpe Street will be held at 3pm today at the Rehobeth Baptist Church, Kite, Ga., with Rev. James Madison and Rev. H. G. Brantley Sr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body is at the family residence. A native of Johnson County, Mrs. Tyson had lived in Macon for the last 20 years. She was married in 1905 to G. J. Tyson. Survivors are her husband; seven sons, Eddie, Albert, Randolph, and Cody Tyson, all of Macon, A. J. Tyson, Dublin, Darrell Tyson, Cherry Point, NC and L. L. Tyson, Brunswick; four daughters, Mrs. A. J. Carroll, Mrs. W. F. Evans, Mrs. H. G. Smith Sr., all of Macon and Mrs. Mary Croft, Brunswick; one sister, Mrs. S. W. Perdue, Batesburg, SC; one brother, Malvin Sammons, Wadley; 18 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Sammons Funeral Home, Soperton is in charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: Lincy was born 2 Aug 1887 to William M. "Uncle Billy" Sammons and Fannie "Fronie" Dixon Sammons. Her husband, George Jefferson Tyson is also buried at Rehobeth Baptist Church Cemetery.
