(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net January 5, 2011, 2:34 pm The Dublin Courier Herald 2-17-1989 Page 2 Cody Tyson Services for Cody Tyson, 74, of 113 Sunset Drive, East Dublin, will be held at 2pm Saturday at Pleasant Springs Baptist Church. The Rev. James Monroe Carter will officiate and burial will be in Dublin Memorial Gardens. A native of Johnson County, Mr. Tyson was born the son of the late George J. and Lincy Sammons Tyson. He served in the US Navy during World War II. Mr. Tyson lived in Macon for 40 years before moving to Dublin 10 years ago and was a retired employee of Electrolux Corp. He was a member of Pleasant Springs Baptist Church and Laurens Lodge No. 75 F&AM. Mr. Tyson died Thursday night at a Dublin hospital. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Bailey Tyson of East Dublin; a brother, William D. Tyson of Greenville, NC; and three sisters, Mary Croft of Brunswick, and Jeffie Smith and Margie Darley, both of Macon. Members of Laurens Lodge No. 75 F&AM will serve as active pallbearers and honorary escort, and will conduct Masonic rites at the graveside. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 tonight at Townsend Funeral Home. Additional Comments: Cody was born 6 Oct 1914. Georgia death certificate #006100.
