Tyson, 77, who died Thursday in a Treutlen County hospital after a long illness, will be held tomorrow at 3pm in the chapel of Sammons Funeral Home in Soperton. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery in Emanuel County. Mrs. Tyson, a native of Kite, had lived here for 16 years. Her survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Eva Nobles of Kite, Mrs. Mary Flanders and Mrs. Gladys Page of Swainsboro, Mrs. Alma Brantley of Soperton, and Mrs. Trudie Lindsay of Wrightsville; five sons, Joe C. Tyson of Fellsmere, Fla., Wylie J. Tyson of Pembroke, Robert E, Preston, and Ernest Tyson, all of Dublin; six sisters, Mrs. Pauline Morris, Mrs. Pearl Boulindau, Mrs. Becky Beasley, and Mrs. Missouri Josey of Kite, Mrs. Nancy Morris of Wrightsville, and Mrs. Virginia Douglas of Adrian; three brothers, Henry Powell of Swainsboro, Jim Powell and Marvin Powell of Kite; 38 grandchildren; 35 great- grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Sammons Funeral Home will direct the services. Additional Comments: Curlie was born 7 Sep 1897 to James Marion Powell and Elizabeth V. "Lizzie" Tapley Powell. Georgia death certificate #033409. She was the second wife of Joseph T. "Joe" Tyson who is also buried at Bethel Church Cemetery.
