WEBB About 3 pm on the 19th day of January, 1911, brother Webb died. His disease rapidly developed into pneumonia, and the end came quietly, while his children and grandchildren were gathered about him. For many years, he had been a faithful member of Arline Methodist Church. He was loyal to all the duties the church demanded. He was at every Saturday service, except one during last year. He was devoted to his Sunday School, having been connected with it in some official way for a very long time and was, at the time of his death, teacher of the Bible Class. He had a very high estimation of the church, and this is indeed the most accurate measure of a man. Just before the war between the States, brother Webb was married to Miss Lou Montford, from which union a large family of children and grand-children have sprung. Shortly after his marriage, he responded to the call to arms, and left all behind to serve his country. --Through it all, God spared him. He returned to his home and began life anew. "Uncle Joe" as he was affectionately called, will be missed in the county and community in which he lived, and nowhere more than in his church. We buried him in the family burial ground by the side of his wife, who preceeded him to the grave and to the Pearly Gates, about nineteen years ago.
