Recorded in Will Book B 1923-1961, pp. 40-41 Written: November 5 1926 State of Georgia. Johnson County. I L. E. Vanlandingham of said State and County, being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking any and all others that I have heretofore made. ITEM 1. It is my will and desire that my body be buried in a Christian like manner, the place and details of which I leave to my wife. ITEM 2. It is my will and desire, and I so direct, that all of my just debts be paid as soon as practicable after my death. ITEM 3. I will, bequeath and devise unto my daughter, Maxie Tompkins, the house and lot located at 409 Floyd Street, Sandersville, Georgia, being the house and lot whereon my daughter above named now resides, and to which lot she now holds Bond for Title for the sum of Eleven Hundred Dollars, and at my death said Bond for Title and said debt is to be cancelled and she is to have said lot in Fee Simple. ITEM 4. I will, bequeath and desire to my daughter Nora Page, the sum of Eleven Hundred Dollars; also the sum of Eleven Hundred Dollars to my son J. W. Vanlandingham; also the sum of Eleven Hundred Dollars to be equally divided among the children of my deceased son Reno Vanlandingham, they to share and share alike. It is my will and desire that my executor hereinafter named, as soon as practicable after my death, to sell a sufficiency of my estate to to pay the special bequest in this item named, it being my will and desire that my children should have an equal amount of Eleven Hundred Dollars each. ITEM 5. I will, bequeath and desire to my wife Elizabeth Vanlandingham, the entire residue of my estate, both real and personal, including insurance, money, notes and accounts to have and to hold, sell and convey and in any manner as she sees fit so long as she may live, and should there be any of my estate left at her death, then and in that event, what is left shall be divided equally among my children, the children of my deceased son Reno Vanlandingham, receiving the share he would have received had he been living, share and share alike. ITEM 6. I hereby make and appoint my wife Elizabeth Vanlandingham, Executrix of this will, and I relieve her from making any inventory of my property or appraisement, or from giving any bond, and she is required only by this will to probate the same, and she is further relieved from making any returns of her acts and doings to any court whatever. I further authorize and impower my said executrix in carrying out the terms of this my will, to sell any part or all of said estate, real and personal, either at public or private sale as to her may seem best, and to the interest of said estate, hereby impowering her to sell my said estate and make deeds of conveyance thereto without having to give notice to any person. Vanlandingham have as his last will and testament, in the presence of the undersigned as witnesses, he first signing in our presence and we then at his special instance and request, signing in his presence and in the presence of each other.
