Folsom bfolsomfamily@earthlink.net Wills: Joseph Rowland, 1862, Johnson County, Georgia Johnson County Georgia Will Book B pages 33-34 JOSEPH ROWLAND WILL State of Georgia December 10th 1862 Johnson County I JOSEPH ROWLAND of the state and county afore said of the age of thirty nine years and seven months old and of sound disposing mind and in good health But having Enlisted in the service of my Country. Item First Whose life is periled every hour I therefore make this my last Will and Testament and as it is appointed unto all men to die and after that the judgement. I first recommend my soul to God and after that my body to be buried in a Christian like manner and after that all my just Debts to be paid. Item Second I Will and bequeath to my beloved Wife ELIZABETH ROWLAND during her widowhood all my estate both real and personal until the youngest child named JACKSON KIMBREL ROWLAND arrives to the age of Twenty one years. And all my lands and tenements together with one Negro girl named Netty to have and to hold during her lifetime and after her death to be equally divided between all my children here after named and when JACKSON KIMBREL ROWLAND arrives at the age of twenty one years all the property except the land and the above named Negro girl Netty will be equally divided between all my children and wife to wit- JOSEPH WILLIAMSON ROWLAND, JOHN WESLY ROWLAND, MARY ANN JANE ROWLAND, NANCY ROWLAND and CATHERINE ROWLAND and JULIA ANN ELIZABETH ROWLAND and JACKSON KIMBREL ROWLAND and JAMES THOMAS ROWLAND and my Wife ELZABETH ROWLAND to receive a child's part of the same. I also give power and authority to give off by the advice of the Executor of this Will to any of my children above named that may Marry any small portion of the property that will not exceed their share, But must take a receipt for the same. I also make ordain and appoint my beloved Brother THOMAS J.ROWLAND and ELIJAH CARTER my Executors to this my last Will and Testament this the tenth day of December 1862. ROWLAND so named therein as Executor duly qualified before me at said term and to vest him with full authority to execute said Will. I have duly issued to him the letters Testamentary agreement to said copy of said Will in testimony whose of I the said Ordinary have hereunto set my hand and seal of office Sixth day October 1863.
