He married SARAH ADELINE GREAVES December 01, 1839 in Jones Co., GA., daughter of JOSEPH GREAVES and MARY SHORTER. (In the book “History of Jones Co., GA” by Carolyn White Williams on pg.628 states that Mary was related to Alabama Gov. John Gill Shorter (1861-63) (B, April 23, 1818) Monticello, GA (D, May 29, 1872) Eufaula, AL. buried in Shorter Cemetery in Eufaula, Barbour Co., AL). Sarah was born 1822 in Jones Co., GA., and died 1866 in Jones Co., GA. She married June 7, 1855, Jones Co., GA, 2nd Taylor Flewellen Gibson whose 1st wife was Elizabeth M. Wornum, mar June 13, 1839. Sarah and 2nd husband Taylor F. Gibson had two children together: Sarah A. Gibson b. abt. 1856, and Taylor F. Gibson, (Jr.) b. abt. 1859. Taylor Gibson died on his plantation in Crawford Co., GA. More About JOSEPH and NANCY (Mamie) GORDON CHILES: Burial: Sunshine Church Cemetery, Round Oak, Jones Co., Georgia After the death of her 1st husband Joseph in 1852 Sarah remarried in 1855 to Taylor Flewellen Gibson. They had two children together: Taylor F. Gibson, (Jr.) b. abt. 1859 Sarah Elizabeth Gibson Christian b. abt. 1856, mar. Robert “Bob” T. Christian. They all are mentioned in Jones County History Book on pg.502. Taylor Gibson, Sr. reportedly died on his plantation in Crawford Co., GA. He also was married for the 3rd time to Mattie M. Smith, no children. Taylor F. Gibson is listed as one of the Exrs. to Joseph Chiles will as shown on page 971 of Carolyn White Williams book “ History of Jones County, Georgia” 1807-1907. Taylor F. Gibson is shown on pg. 579 of the “History of Jones County-1807-1907”, to be the Junior Warden of the first Masonic Lodge of Jones County which was organized under the name of Wornam Lodge No. 116 at Clinton, Georgia in the year 1850 and acted under dispensation until charter was granted during the regular communication of the Grand Lodge of Georgia held at Macon, Georgia, October 29th, 1850. The Lodge met in the old hotel in Clinton was, for some unknown reason, renamed in 1866 to Sincerity No. 116. The charter was surrendered in 1886. In 1899 the Lodge was reorganized under the name of Sincerity No. 430. I’m interested in finding out any other information on this family line. In particular location of Sarah Adeline Greaves Chiles Gibson gravesite, Taylor F. Gibson gravesite, and what became of Mary S. Chiles. Alsograve location for Joseph D. Greaves and his wife Mary Shorter Greaves. My mother, Clara Amelia Malum Collins had family ties to Jones Co., GA. thru her mother Margaret “ Maggie” Belle Chiles Malum. “Maggie” Belle Chiles parents were Catherine Stewart and John Randolph Chiles, he was the son of Joseph Chiles, Sr. (B, abt 1800) in NC (D, 9-15-1852) in Jones, Co., GA and Sarah Adeline Greaves (B, abt 1824) Jones Co., GA. and they had four children, three boys and one girl.
