Ordered that letters of administration be granted to Kinchia LARY and Lary LARY on the estate of Darby LARY, deceased, and that John Hicks, Joseph Hood, Loyd Kelley & William Chandler, or any three of them, be and are hereby appointed to appraise the personal estate of Darby LARY, deceased. Lary, Levy Jr. and Melinda and Levy Sr. and probably Sussana is his wife. Then Darby Lary. I know of John S. Brooks. He purchased the land of Hinchia Lary about 1825 in Jones County, Ga. This land was next to that of Larry Lary and in 1830 John S. Brooks was the administrator of Larry Lary. See Jones County Tax records 1830. I don't know what happened to Larry's land but you might be able to find that estate in Jones County. I don't have much luck with getting things from that courthouse. There is a marriage license that I believe is Elizabeth Lary married to John S. Brooks but indexed incorrectly. I have seen the marriage license and I believe it is Lary, also in your family you might look for the old Darby Lary bible which Larry Lary purchased in 1803 in Hancock County, ....Who is Anna Lary on the 1850 Crawford County, Ga. census with John S. Census http://www.rootsweb.com/~gataylor/census/censindx.htm REFERENCE: According to a letter written by Luvenia Brooks Shine to her nephew, Nathaniel Bradford, the Brooks land was left to Elizabeth Lary Brooks upon the death of her husband, John. In Nov 1874, she was renting the land to four white families who were cultivating the land. Her son, Martin Brooks, unmarried at the time, was living in the home with her and attended to her business. I found a note on the 1846 probate for Oliver MORTON listing heirs as his wife, Malinda and children: Malinda Morton, Amanda Morton, Thomas H. Morton, Oliver H. Morton, Ezra D. Morton; Others Mentioned: Eli Lang (Lang=Lary?) son of wife Malinda; and James Godard. They are listed in Jones Co. 1840 Census according to the Index. Would appreciate any lookup on this census.
