           HUNT CEMETERY
         The HUNT family cemetery, is located on Jackson Rd., nr. Round Oak in Jones County.  The cemetery is surrounded by a very old iron fence.  It is believed 
the Hunt plantation known as "Elmcroft" is located some distance from the 
cemetery. Built by Thomas Hunt about 1820 (believe to be presently still 
standing) and is located on the same side of the road as the Hunt family 
cemetery.

This HUNT family is connected to my HUNTs of VA (Albemarle Parish, Sussex and 
Greensville Cos., VA and  GA (Hancock Co., GA). 

Those mentioned buried in the HUNT Cemetery are: 

William HUNT, b. 03 Jan 1772, Albemarle Parish, Sussex Co., VA; d. 30 Jan 
1834, nr. Round Oak, Jones Co., GA; s/o Capt. Judkins HUNT, Sr., "Rev. War 
Sol." (my 4th g gf) and Martha BATTE, Albemarle Parish, Sussex and 
Greensville Cos., GA and Hancock Co., GA and b/o Judkins HUNT, Jr. (my 3rd g 
gf).  William HUNT married Elizabeth WOMACK, (d/o Abraham WOMACK and Judith 
MINTER), 1797, Warren Co., GA.. 

Children of William HUNT and Elizabeth WOMACK were: 

1. Thomas HUNT, b. 18 Aug 1800, Hancock Co., GA; d. 22 Nov 1875, nr. Round 
Oak, Jones Co., GA; md., SARAH T. (TRIPPE) POPE, b. 12 Dec 1804; d. 01 Jul 
1847 (d/o Jesse McKINNIE POPE, Jr. and Sarah "Sallie" TRIPPE). 

2.  WILLIAM B. (BATTE) HUNT, b. 18 Dec 1810, nr. Round Oak, Jones Co., GA; d. 
1830, nr. Round Oak, Jones Co., GA. 

Child of Thomas HUNT and Sarah T. (TRIPPE) POPE:
