Broach to Flanders Bros. Bibb County Deed to Secure Debt Book U, Page 7 of Jones County Deeds March 29, 1879 Having this day made and delivered drafts on .... Flanders Brothers amounting to $500.00 hereby for the purpose of securing the payment of said drafts or notes and such other notes, accounts and advances that may be hereafter made by Flanders Bros. or principal or as agents for supplies and advances for the present not to exceed the sum of five hundred dollars as well as for securing all costs expenses and attys fees that my accrue in the collection of said drafts, notes, accounts and advances whether incurred by said Flanders Bros or by the holder of said draft notes & accounts and this mortgage - I do give to the said Flanders Bros a mortgage and a lien upon the following viz: Upon all of the houses, mules, cattle, corn, fodder, tools implements and provisions of every kind on my farm in the County of Jones and such other articles of like kind as may be produced or bought to replace those now on said farm, also on the following viz: One bay mare mule 5 years old named Pet, one mouse colored horse, mule named Rube 7 years old, one bay horse mule named Crocket 4 years old, one black horse mule named Jim 7 years old, one bay mare mule named Rhody 5 years old, one black mare mule Hagen 6 years old, 586 acres of land in Jones County bounded on north - Elliott, South - W.H. Head, East - Joshua Harris, West - Josua Harris. All of my farming tools, plows & wagons & harness. And I renounce and waive for myself and family the benefit of use exemption and homestead in all of said property and in all other property I now have or may have hereafter, and the same shall be bound for the payment of said drafts, notes and accounts and all others hereafter given and I promise to pay all costs incurred in the collection and not more than ten per cent for atty fees if said drafts notes and accounts are not paid at maturity. We do hereby authorize and empower the said Flanders Bros or the holder of the mortgage to advertise said property by two insertions in same public Gazette or by posting notice of sale for 10 days at Court House door in said County and to sell the same to the highest bidder and best bidder before the Court House door for the purpose of paying said drafts, notes, and accounts or any balance that may be due, and we do hereby authorize the said Flanders Bros. to make titles to said purchaser, and to deliver possession to said purchaser of said property.
