Illegible word State of Georgia This Indenture made this fourth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eight and in the 32 year of the Independence of the United States of America between Spencer Crane of the County of Wilkes of the one part and Matthew Marshall of the County of Baldwin but now Jones and State aforesaid of the other -- Witnesseth that the said Spencer Crane for and in consideration of the sum of Five hundred Dollars in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledges, that granted, bargained, sold, aliened, conveyed and confirmed, and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, alien, convey and confirm unto the said MATTHEW MARSHALL his heirs and assigns; all that Tract or parcel of land in the County of Baldwin but now Jones known by lot One hundred and thirty seven in the Eleventh District of then Baldwin but now Jones, containing by estimate Two hundred two and a half acres, bounded South E. by lot No. 150: N. E. by Lot 136: N. W. by lot No. 128: S. W. by 138. To have and to hold the said Tract of land aforesaid with all and singular the rights members and appurtenances (?) whatsoever, to the said tract of lands as aforesaid being belonging or in any wise appertaining with the remainder and remainders, ?ersion and ?ersions, rents, issues and profits thereof to the only proper use benefit and behoof of him the said MATTHEW MARSHALL, his heirs, Executors, Administrators and assigns, in fee simple: and the said SPENCER CRANE his heirs, Executors, and Administrators the said bargained Tract of Land as aforesaid unto the said MATTHEW MARSHALL, his heirs, Executors Administrators and assigns, against him the said SPENCER CRANE, his heirs, Executors and Administrators, and all and any other person or persons, shall and will warrant and forever defend by virtue of these presents In witness whereof, the said SPENCER CRANE hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal, the day and year first above written Spencer Crane (his mark) (Seal) Singed, Sealed and delivered in presence of Robert Walton, J. C.; John Lockhart, J. J.
