Witnesseth that the Said James Gates for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid by the said William Barefield at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledge, have granted bargained and sold released & confirmed & by these presents doth grant bargain sell & release unto the said William Barefield a certain tract or piece of or parcel of Land Containing fifty acres be the same more or less lying in the County of Baldwin at the time of Survey Now Jones County, Being part of Lot 180 One hundred and Eighty in the sixth district on the Waters of Commissioners Creek beginning at a pine corner adjoining ?Coles and ?Mrs. ?Finley’s land and running with their upper lines to Commissioners Creek thence down the meanders of the Creek to where the line crosses the Creek ?dividing Davis Fifty Acres layed out in the South west Corner thence with a ?west line from the Creek to a stake Corner on the back line thence to the place of beginning, which said lot of land was granted to Joseph Anglin on the twentieth day of November 1807. Together with all and Singular the rights members and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land and all & Singular the premises and appurtenances thereunto belonging and any part thereof unto him the said William Barefield, his heirs and assigns forever to their own proper use and benefit and behoof of the said William Barefield his heirs and assigns and the said James Gates for himself and his heirs & assigns the said tract or parcel of land and premises and every part thereof against him and his heirs and against all and every other person and persons whatsoever to the said William Barefield his heirs and assigns shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents.
