Jones County
This Indenture made this the 26th day of March in the year of our Lord One 
thousand Eight hundred and Seventy Seven between Rich’d Johnson of the County 
of Jones of the one part and John R. Barfield of the County of Wilkinson of 
the other part.  Witnesseth that the Said Richard Johnson for and in 
consideration of the Sum of five hundred and fifty dollars cash in hand paid 
at and before the Sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof 
is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained Sold aliened conveyed and 
confirmed And by these presents doth grant bargain Sell alien convey and 
confirm unto the Said John R. Barfield his heirs and assigns all that tract or 
parcel of land being in the County of Jones and Known as a part of the John 
Barfield Estate and distinguished as lot number one hundred and Seventy four & 
fractional part of lot number One hundred and ninety one containing four 
hundred and one half acres of land more or less and for a more fully [sic]
description see administrators deed made March 26th 1877 and Recorded in Book 
T Deeds Page 548.
To have and to hold the Said described land and premises with all and Singular 
the rights members and appurtenances thereunto appertaining to the only proper 
use benefit and behoof of him the said John R. Barfield his heirs Executors 
administrators and assigns in fee Simple and the Said Richard Johnson the said 
bargained premises unto the said John R. Barfield his heirs Executors 
administrators and assigns against the said Richard Johnson his heirs 
Executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons 
shall and will warrant and forever defend by virtue of these presents.
In witness whereof the said Richard Johnson hath hereunto Set his hand and 
affixed his Seal and delivered these presents the day and year first above 
written.
