All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Linda Deppner http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00012.html#0002870 February 14, 2007, 7:40 pm Part of Lot 178, unknown District Written: September 6, 1810 Recorded: November 6, 1810 Jones County, Georgia Deed Book A, pages 514-516 State of Georgia Jones County This Indenture made this Sixth [looks like Sixteenth was written first, then changed to Sixth] of September one Thousand Eight hundred and Ten and in the thirty fourth and fifth year of the Independence of the Unighted [sic] States of America - Between William May of the County and State affours'd of the one part and Abner Lockett of the County and State affours'd of the other part - Witnesseth that the said Abner Lockett for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and twenty five dollars to him in hand well and truly paid by the s'd William May at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained Sold released and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell release and confirm unto the affoursaid William May his heirs and [bottom of page - the clerk apparently left out several words] one half of a lot of land containing by estimation one hundred one and a fourth acres it being one half of lot number one hundred and seventy eight, it being the South half bounded South by fraction one hundred and Eighty six to be divided parallel with the check lines agreeable to two Hickorys in the parrallel [sic] lines marked by themselves. Together with all and Singular the writes members and appertainence thereof whatsoever to the s'd tract of land being belonging or in any wise appertaining and the remainders, reversions rents issues and profits thereof and every part theirof [sic] and the s'd William May his heirs and assigns forever against myself my heirs Executors Adm'rs or any other person or persons whatsoever laying Claim thereto. Given under my hand and seal the day and year first above written. Abner Lockett (Seal) Signed and acknowledged In presents of Wm. Binion Sen'r Edward Bass Breton (his B mark) Partin Georgia Jones County Personally came and appeared Preton [sic] Partin and after being sworn saith that he was present and saw Abner Lockit Sign Seal and deliver the within Deed to Wm. May for the contents within menchioned [sic] and that he likewise saw William Binion and Edward Bass with himself Subscribe their names as witnesses thereto.
