Georgia				Levin D. Sockwell to
Jones County			J.W.A. Newsom
November 28, 1831		 Deed to Secure Debt 
Book P, P. 20			65 Acres of Land

	This indenture made and entered into this twenty eighty day of November eighteen hundred & thirty one, between Levin D. Sockwell of said State and County of the one part and J.W.A. Newsom of the same place of the other part.

Witnesseth that the said Levin D. for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars to him in hand paid at and before the execution of these presents, the receipt is hereby acknowledged, hath this day bargained, sold, conveyed and confirmed and doth by these presents bargain, sell, convey, and confirm unto the said J. W. A. Newsom his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land, containing sixty five acres more or less lying and being in said County on the road leading from Clinton to Macon adjoining Ridgway Hogan and others and whereon the said Levin D. now lives.

Georgia				Joseph W.A. Newsom to Daniel McCloud
Jones County			Deed to Secure Debt

October 15, 1836

	This indenture made this fifteenth day of October in the year eighteen hundred and thirty six between Joseph W. A. Newsom of the one part and Daniel McCloud of the other part both of the State and County aforesaid. 

Witnesseth that the said Joseph W.A. Newsom hath is day made and delivered to the said Daniel McCloud his certain promissory note subscribed with his hand and bearing even date with these presents whereby the said Joseph W.A. Newsom hath promised to pay the said Daniel McCloud or bearer twelve hundred and twenty dollars and cents on or before the twenty fifth day of December next, using the date hereof for value received.

Now for and in consideration of the sum of five dollars by the said Daniel McCloud to the said Joseph W.A. Newsom in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, as well as for the better securing the payment of the aforesaid promissory note the said Joseph W.A. Newsom hath bargained and sold and doth by these presents grant, bargain and sell unto the said Daniel McCloud his heirs and assigns all that piece or part of lot of land whereon the said Newsom now lives in the county aforesaid containing one hundred and ten acres more or less adjoining Ridgeway Hogan and others, lying directly on and south of the public road leading from Clinton to Macon, also a certain Negro woman by the name of Sally about twenty years old and her female child about two weeks old unnamed.

August 4, 1838			Deed 110 Acres of Land

	This indenture made this the fourth day of August in the year eighteen hundred and thirty eight between Joseph W.A. Newsom and Daniel McCloud of the one part and Martha D. Wimberly of the other part, all of the County and State aforesaid.

Witnesseth that the said Joseph W.A. Newsom and Daniel McCloud for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred and fifty dollars to them in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto the said Martha D. Wimberly her heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land containing one hundred and ten acres more or less situate lying and being in the eighth district of originally Baldwin now Jones County and being part of lots numbers forty three and forty four in said district adjoining land of Sarah Townsend on the north east and the lands of Dawson Philips on every other side and being the place whereon the said Joseph W.A. Newsom now lives.

And the said Joseph W.A. Newsom and Daniel McCloud do by these presents covenant that they will deliver full peaceable and quiet possession of said premises unto the said Martha D. Wimberly on the twenty fifth day of December next.
