					John I. Smith from Zachariah Herrington
					Deed
					70 Acres of Land		

This indenture made this the first day of September in
the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & fifty
eight, between Zachariah Herrington of the County & State
aforesaid of the one part, and John I. Smith of the same
place of the other part.				

Witnesseth that the said Zachariah Herrington for & in
consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars to him
in hand paid at & before the sealing & delivery of these
presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged,
hath granted, bargained & sold, & do by these presents
grant, bargain & sell unto the said John I. Smith, his
heirs & assigns all of that tract or parcel of land
situate, lying & being in the county aforesaid, said
tract or parcel of land lying & being in the eighth
district of Baldwin, now Jones County, containing seventy
acres more or less, bound by the lands of John Powell on
the west side, of Hugh McKay on the north & east & John
Smith on the south and known as the place he now lives
on.

To have and to hold said trust or parcel of land unto him
the said John I. Smith his heirs & assigns together with
all & singular the right, members & appurtenances thereof
to same in any manner belonging to him & their own proper
use benefit & behoof forever in fee simple.  And the said
Zachariah Herrington for himself his heirs, executors &
administrators the said bargained premises unto the said
John I. Smith his heirs & assigns will warrant & forever
defend the right & title thereof against themselves &
against the claims of all other persons whatsoever.

In witness whereof the said Zachariah Herrington hath
hereunto set his hand and seal on the day & year above
written.
