Smith from Joseph I. Cooper This indenture made this tenth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand and forty five between Joseph I. Cooper of the County and State aforesaid of the one part, and John I. Smith of the same place of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Joseph I. Cooper for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars to him in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath grant, bargained, sold and conveyed and does by these presents grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said John I. Smith his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land lying and being in the eighth district originally Baldwin now Jones County known in the plan of the said district by N (127) one hundred and twenty seven containing one hundred and twenty eight acres more or less and bounded by the lands on the east by N. Turbeville, on the south by James Mahanna on the west by Jas. Roquemore & Powell on the north by John Powell Sr. & Timothy McPherson and more particular known by the place where Joseph I. Cooper now lives. To have and to hold said tract or parcel of land unto him the said John I. Smith his heirs and assigns together with all and singular the rights, members and appurtenances thereof to the same in any manner belonging to his and their own proper use, benefit and behoof for ever in fee simple. And the said Joseph I. Cooper for himself, his heirs, executors and administrators the said bargained premises unto the said John I. Smith, his heirs and assigns will warrant and for ever defend the right and title thereof against themselves and against the claim of other persons whatever. In testimony whereof the said Joseph I.
