Smith to J.W.A. Newsom This indenture made this six day of Febry in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty four between John I. Smith of the County and State aforesaid of the one part and J.W.A. Newsom of the same place of the other part. Witnesseth that the said John I. Smith for and in consideration of the sum of eight hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, sold and conveyed and does by these presents grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said J.W.A. Newsom, his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land lying and being in the Eighth Dist. originally Baldwin, now Jones County known in the plan of the said Dist. by No._, two hundred and eighty eight acres more or less and bounded by the lands of - on the east by P. Clower, on the south by P. Clower and W. Saues, on the west by John Bird & George Bird, on the north by John I. Smith and more particularly known by the place where J.W.A. Newsom now lives. To have and to hold said tract and parcel of land unto him the said J.W.A. Newsom, his heirs and assigns together with all and singular the rights, members and appurtenances thereof to the said in any manner belonging to his and their own proper use benefit and behoof forever in fee simple. And the said John I. Smith for himself, his heirs, Executors and Administrators the said bargained premises unto the said J.W.A. Newsom, his heirs and assigns will warrant & forever defend the right and title thereof against themselves and against the claim of all other persons whatsoever. In witness whereof the said John I.
