Smith from John Bradley State of Georgia Jones County Know all men by these presents that I John Bradley duly constituted Administrator of the estate both real and personal of John I. Smith decd late of Jones County deceased by virtue of an order of the Court of Ordinary of Jones County granted at the regular monthly August term eighteen hundred and seventy six of said Court (notice of application for said order having been previously published in terms of the law) did on the first Tuesday in January Eighteen hundred and ninety nine within the legal hours of sale put up and expose for sale at public outcry before the Court house door at Clinton in the County of Jones the real estate hereafter described after having advertised said sale in the Jones County News the official gazette of said County as the law requires when the same was knocked off to R.V. Smith of the County of Houston being the highest and best bidder at the price of Three hundred & Eleven Dollars. Now for and in consideration of the said sum of Three hundred & eleven Dollars cash in hand paid by the said R.V. Smith (the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged) I the said John Bradley as administrator as aforesaid has granted bargained and sold and do by these presents grant bargain and sell so far as the office of Administrator authorized him unto the said R.V. Smith the following described real estate to wit. The John I. Smith place situated in Jones County Georgia and containing four hundred acres of land more or less compromising the whole of the original John I. Smith place and bounded on the east & north by lands of W.F. McKay on the west by the Bird place & on the south by the lands of Mrs. Pottle. To have and to hold the same together with all and the rights members and appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said R.V. Smith his heirs and assigns forever in as full and ample a manner as the same was seized possessed and enjoyed by the said John I. Smith at the time of his death. In witness whereof I the said John Bradley as Administrator as aforesaid have hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal this the 1st day of Feby Eighteen hundred and ninety nine.
