Brown This deed made and entered into the Eleventh day of January One thousand eight hundred and twenty two between William Jones & Harrison Smith of the one part and William F. Brown of the other part. Witnesseth that the said William Jones & Harrison Smith for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars to them in hand paid at and before the sealing & delivery of these presents the receipt whereof whereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold aliened conveyed & confirmed and by these presents do doth grant, bargain, sell, confirm unto the said William F. Brown his heirs & assigns a certain parcel of land it being one half of Lot Number Forty in the Town of Clinton ......the said Jones & Smith built a gin house on. To have and to hold the __ of Lot Number Forty with all & singular the buildings thereunto belonging or any wise appertaining with the remainder & remainders reversions rents issues & profits thereof to the only proper use benefit & behoof of him the said William F. Brown his heirs executors administrators and assigns in fee simple & the said Jones & Smith their heirs &c the said bargained lot of land unto the said William F. Brown his heirs &c against the said Jones & Smith their executors administrators and all and every other person or persons shall & will warrant & forever defend the title unto the said William F. Brown his heirs &c. In testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hand & affixed our seals the day & year above written Wm.
