Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid by the said Pippin the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged by him the said Sockwell hath bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Pippin a certain parcel of land lying and being in the County aforesaid on Wolf Creek containing twenty six acres more or less it being that part of lots No. fifty five in the ninth district of Baldwin when surveyed but now the County of Jones which joins lot No. fifty four in the district aforesaid on the said side of Wolf Creek joining Joseph Cox bounded by the creek on one side and agreed line between Sockwell and Alexander on the other side which said tract or parcel of land the said Sockwell hath this day bargained and sold unto the said Pippin his heirs executors administrators or assigns to have and to hold free from the claim of any other person or persons whatsoever. I the said Levin Sockwell do warrant and forever defend unto the said John Pippin and his heirs in fee simple.
