Dear Father  I take this opportunity to inform you
that I am well and the rest of them are with me.  I
have had one horse to Dy & another one that is not
fit for use.  Granderson had two that ____ the camp
the night before last and he has not got them yet.  I
want to find them as soon as we can.  Provisions is
very high in this country. Corn is worth $ 1 and
fifty cents per bushel foder is not to be had. We
have enough yet.  Murry is with us yet his horse went
the same night. Nothing more at this time but I
remain thy dear son.
