To his Excellency  Wm Schley, Governor of said state 

Greeting.  This will certify that we the undersigned commissioned officer to wit,

James P. Low, Colonel of the 46th Regiment 

Abington Barrow, Colonel of the 31st Regiment Georgia Militia

Major Pleasant Mullins and Major Jas W. G. Smith have
this opened, superintended and managed an election at
the Courthouse in said county for a Captain, a first
Lieutenant, a second Lieutenant and an Ensign to
command the drafted quota of Militia detached
heretofore from both said Reigments in said county to
enter the service of the United States, pursuant to
orders of his Excellency the Governor of Georgia
dated 17th day of the month at which election, Robert
V. Hardeman was duly elected Captain.

Clinton  23 May 1836

Dear Sir:

We have been informed that a quantity of Muskets &c
in Macon that were ordered by your Excellency to be
sent to Columbus are yet in the former place -- we
shall be able to procure near fifty Muskets fit for
use of thse that were formerly sent for the use of
the Clinton Independent Blues. If it should meet the
approbation of your Excellency We would be pleased to
procure your order for such number of Muskets as will
be necessary to place a mustket in the hand of Each
man that will march on Thursday next from this
county.  It will require about forty in addition to
those we have.

Capt Hardeman will furnish from the Arms in possession of his Company to Capt Garmany of the Gwinnett Troup 31 stand of arms also to Capt Flewellen of the Monroe Troup 33 stand of arms and take receipts therefore.

County Company were surrendered to the proper
authority.
