Tudor, deceased, who was a Private in the company commanded by Captain Lewis Easter in the Regiment of Georgia Militia commanded by Major Lawson under General David Blackshire, in the war with Great Britain. That her said husband was drafted at Clinton, Jones Co., Georgia, on or about the - day of October AD 1814 for the term of six months and continued in actual service in said war for the term of over four months and was discharged at Darien, Georgia, on the first day of March AD 1815 as will appear by the muster rolls of said Company. She further states that she was married to the said John E. Tudor in Jones County, Georgia on the twelfth day of July AD 1813 by one John Cook, a Preacher and a Justice of the Peace and that her name before her said marriage was Mary Crowell, that her husband died at Livingston County, State of Kentucky, on the seventh day of April AD 1833 and that she is still a widow. She makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining bounty land to which she may be entitled under the act passed September 28th, 1850. (seal) Affidavit of Witnesses: State of Kentucky, County of Crittenden On this twelfth day of November AD 1851 personally appeared before me, a Justice of the Peace within and for the State and county aforesaid, Benjamin Crowell and Wm. E. Crowell, residents of the State of Kentucky and county of Crittenden who being duly sworn according to law, declare that Mary Tudor is the widow of John E. Tudor, deceased, who was a Private in the company commanded by Captain Lewis Easter in the 3rd regiment of Georgia Militia commanded by Major Lawson under General David Blackshire in the War with Great Britain. That the said Mary Tudor or Crowell was married to the said John E. Tudor, deceased, at Jones County in the State of Georgia on the twelfth day of July AD 1813 by one John Cook, a Preacher and Justice of the Peace, that the name of the said Mary Tudor before her marriage aforesaid was Mary Crowell, that her husband, the said John E. Tudor, died at Livingston County, Ky, on the seventh day of April AD 1833 and that she is still a widow. That they saw the said Tudor mustered into service & saw him during the service & saw him when he came home from the service & the said Benjamin Crowell served & messed with him during the whole of his service and they swear that they are disinterested witnesses and that both of them were present at her marriage & saw her married to said Tudor & know that they lived together as husband & wife for about twenty years. Crowell are credible witnesses. (signed) John Nunn, J.P.C.C. (seal) Additional Comments: Actual muster dates of John Evans Tudor were 21 November 1814 to 8 March 1815. Mary submitted later paperwork on 7 April 1855, in which she stated that her marriage took place on 9 July 1812 by John Cook in Jones Co., GA, which was different from the date she gave in 1851. She also stated in 1855 that "no public or private record of her marriage can be obtained." In 1855, the witnesses to her claim are Thomas Broadfoot and H. M. Crowell. Her full name was Mary Ann Crowell, and Benjamin Crowell was her father. William Evans Crowell was her brother. Mary Ann Crowell was born 15 Oct 1798 and died after 1860.
