R. Van Buren has gone to New York to close a contract with the builders of the New York Tunnel, whereby he agrees to furnish all of the white brick needed for walling up the tunnel. It will require many millions, but he is confident of his ability to supply them from his mines around Griswoldville, in Jones county. The contracts have been drawn and the terms agreed to. The kaolin bricks takes a glaze resembling porcelain china, and is said to be non-absorbent, so that no amount of moisture or dampness affects it.
