In the name of God Amen, I, GEORGE BROACH of the State of Georgia and County of Jones considering the uncertainty of this mortal life, and being of sound mind and memory, do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following: Item 1st. It is my will and desire after my death that my body should be decently interred. Item 2nd. I give and demise to my beloved wife Rachel Broach all my lands lying and being in the eighth district originally Baldwin now Jones County containing Eight Hundred and thirty-seven acres more of less and bounded by the land of Alexander J. Hunt & Spencer Owen on the west, Boze Kitchens & John Daniel on the south, Joshua Harris, __Richardson, Sarah Townsend and William Moreland on the East, Sterling W. Smith and John King on the north. Item 3rd. I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Rachel Broach, all my Negroes (to wit) Caroline and her two children, Peter a boy & Francis a girl, Milley and her two children, Essex a boy & An a girl, Mary and her child, Harriet and their increase, and all the household and kitchen furniture & stock of every kind, all the corn, fodder and provisions of every description. All the farming utensils and everything that belongs to the plantation at my death. Item 4th. I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Rachel Broach all my distributive share of my Father's estate who resides now in the State of North Carolina in the County of Persons that may be coming to me at his death. Item 5th. It is my will and desire that my beloved wife Rachel Broach shall have full power to dispose of a part or all of the above described property in any manner that she may think proper and to enjoy it in any way she may think fit during her natural life and after her death, I wish it equally divided between my beloved children Robert Broach, John Broach, Hamilton Broach, Mary Ann Broach & Calvin Broach. Item 6th. I give and bequeath unto my beloved daughter Martha Morris One Hundred dollars to be paid out of my estate after the death of my beloved wife, Rachel Broach as her distributive share of my Estate. Item 7th. I hereby appoint my beloved wife Rachel Broach and beloved son Robert Broach my sole Executrix and Executor to this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 18th day of November in the year of Lord One Thousand and Eight Hundred and Forty-One. /s/ George Broach, LS Signed, Sealed published and declared by the above named George Broach to be his last will and testament in presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses in presence of the testator. Lavinia Griffin Ambrose A. Williams William Moreland Georgia, Jones County Court of Ordinary adjourned term September the 9th Eighteen Hundred and Forty-four. In open court personally appeared William Moreland one of the Subscribing witnesses to the within instrument of writing who being duly sworn deposeth and saith that he saw George Broach deceased sign the same, seal publish and declare the within to be and contain his true last will and testament and that he was of sound and disposing mind and memory at the time of executing the same, that he done it freely and of his own accord, and that deponent subscribed the same as a witness at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other and saw Lavinia Griffin and Ambrose A.
