GA WILL OF RICHARD CASTLEBERRY, Will Book A (1808-1850), Jones Co., GA In the name of God, amen. I, Richard Castleberry of Jones County and State of Georgia, being weak in Body, but of perfect mind (and) memory do make this my Last Will and Testament in the following manner and form that is to say, First and principally of all I recommend my Soul unto the hands of the Almighty God who gave it and my body unto the earth from Whence it was taken to be buried in a decent and Christian manner at the discretion of my Executors, nothing doubting but I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God, and as touching such worldly estate that God has blessed me with in my lifetime I dispose of the same in the following manner. First I give unto my well beloved wife Anny Castleberry my land whereon I now live, half of lot No. 59 and one fourth of No. 60 in the ninth district when drawn in the County of Baldwin, now Jones. And further I give my well beloved wife four negroe men and two wenches, that is to say, Adam and Toney and Essex and Aleck, Nancy and Alice. I give my well beloved wife all my household and kitchen furniture, and all Stock consisting of hogs, horses, Cattle and sheep. I give the above property to my wife Anny during her lifetime or widowhood. Second I give and bequeath to my son Asa Castleberry one negro man named Essick. Third I give and bequeath to my son Edward Castleberry one negro woman named Alce and Rhoda her child. Fourth I give and bequeath to my son Aaron Castleberry one negro man named Aleck and one small boy named Sampson. Fifth I give and bequeath to my son Job Castleberry one negro woman named Nancy and her two youngest children Landon and Seaborn. Sixth I give and bequeath to my son Isaac Castleberry one negro man named Adam and a boy named Jacob. Seventh I give and bequeath to my son in law Charlton Thompson one negro man named Toney and a negro girl named Cherry. Eighth I give and bequeath to my son Richard Castleberry's heirs fifty dollars to be paid out of my effects when my Executor has a sale and collects that much money. Ninth I give and bequeath to my son David Castleberry the aforesaid land whereon I now live. I give the above named property to my heirs after the death of my wife Anny Castleberry. I wish my two sons Aaron Castleberry and David Castleberry to be my sole Executors of this my last will and testament and the said Executors to see all my Just debts be paid out of the first and readiest money, goods and chattel. I constitute my Executors to allowance my wife any such a portion of my Stock as she can live plentifully as I think I have got more than she can take care of. I ordain this my last will and testament, rejecting all former wills and testaments, or legacies by me in any wise made heretofore, and acknowledging this only to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I do hereunto set my hand and Seal this fourteenth day of March 1814.
