Gibson a citizen of Said State and County do hereby publish and declare the following instrument of writing as my last will and Testament. Item 1st I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary S. Chiles a negro woman named Josephine and her three children Dallas Ella and Ned, and the future increase of said female Slave Josephine - my carriage and my interest or share in the land upon which I now reside - and the plantation connected therewith - also one fourth of all notes - accounts and money belonging to me and which I may die possessed of - Said described and mentioned property I give and bequeath unto my said daughter as her Sole and separate Estate, and for her Sole and Separate use free from the contracts liabilities or obligations of any husband she may ever have - and to have control possess and use of said property - together with its increase rents issues and profits for and during her natural lifetime and after her death to go too her children - but should my said daughter die without leaving a child or children or the issue of such, then all of said property with its increase to go to and be equally divided among her whole Brothers. Item 2nd I give and bequeath of the balance of my property real personal and mixed, not disposed of by the first item of this my will unto my three sons - Samuel L.Chiles John R. Chiles and Joseph Chiles to be equally divided between them share & share alike - and request that my buggy remain on the place for the use and enjoyment of all my said Sons. Item 3rd I nominate and appoint my friend Reichard H. Hutchings and my Son Samuel L.Chiles my Exectors to this my last will and Testament. Juhan and Richard W. Bonner the subscribing witnesses to the within instrument of writing who after being examined in open court touching the same deposeth and saith that they saw Sarah Gibson the Testatrix sign seal publish and declare the same to be her true last will and testament that she was at the time of executing the same of Sound and disposing mind and memory and in our Judgment capable therein to make a valid will - that she did the same freely and without the appearance of any compulsion that we were called on by her to Sign as witnesses and that we did Sign the same as witnesses, in her presence and in the presence of each othre - and the contensts of the Said instrument was known to her.
