Trice, Zach - CHARLEY TRICE KILLS HIS BROTHER, ZACH TRICE The hearts of our people were saddened last week when the news went abroad that Charley Trice had killed his brother, Zach Trice. It was not an accidental shooting, it was not caused by a passion suddenly aroused, but it was said to be a death resulting from a hatred that germinated long ago in the hearts opf the two brothers, and which had continued to grow, until that degree of animosity was reached when one brother desired to destroy the life of another.. (rest of article missing) ref. News-Gazette 06 Aug., 1891 Charles t. Trice was pardoned by Governor Atkinson Monday. About three years ago Trice was sent to the penitentiary for thirteen years from Pike Co., under conviction for voluntary manslaughter. Trice killed his brother, Zach Trice, the killing being the result of a quarrel, Zach Trice being in the act of rushing his brother with an open knife when shot...He has been a good prisoner, and the Governor was convinced that he had been sufficiently punished. ref.
