Sappington, Samuel H. Bush Succumb Same Day. Special to the Constitution. Barnesville, Ga., April 19 -- Two leading Lamar county farmers--Henry Newsom Sappington, 86, and Samuel Hempton Bush--died at their homes in Redbone district. Both had been ill about six months. Mr. Sappington and Mr. Bush were both born, reared and spent all their lives in Redbone. They were members of pioneer families, Mr. Sappington's parents being the late Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Sappington, and Mr. Bush's parents being Samuel Houston and Elizabeth Owen Bush. Mr. Bush was a grandson of the late Jackson Bush, the original settler of Redbone community. Mr. Sappington is survived by his wife; two daughters and five sons, Mrs. F. H. Bush and Collier Sappington, of Redbone, Mrs. Lee Hunter, of Griffin, Dr. N. O. Sappington, of Akron, Ohio, Gordon Sappington, of San Diego, Cal., Homer Sappington, of Barnesville, and Joe H. Sappington, of Trion; a brother, J. A. Sappington, and a sister, Miss Gillie Sappington, of Barnesville; and six grandchildren. Services for Mr. Sappington were held this afternoon in Prospect Methodist church, the Rev. J. A. Griffies officiating. Burial was in the family cemetery. Mr. Bush is survived by three brothers, Robert Lee and Millard Bush, of Barnesville, and John Glen bush, of Goggins; two sisters, Miss Julia Bush, of Redbone, and Miss Janie Bush, of the faculty of G. S. W. C. in Valdosta; seven nephews, and five nieces. Funeral services for Mr. Bush will be held at 11 o'clock Thursday morning in Fredonia Congregational church in Redbone, the Rev. Gerald Smith officiating. Burial will be in Fredonia cemetery. Additional Comments: The Georgia Death Index actually gives their death dates a day apart: Henry N.
