Wilson Shoots R.E. Sappington in Seville; Fires Four Shots. Arrest In Auto Case Cause Abbeville, Aug.23. - J.C. Wilson, a farmer, shot and killed R.E. Sappington at Seville this afternoon. The shooting occurred in the post office building, Wilson fired four shots at Sappington, all of them taking effect. It is believed the shooting resulted from a grudge Wilson held against Sappington, due to Wilson's recent arrest in connection with the finding of Sappington's automobile in a Macon garage. It was charged at the time that Wilson had taken the car to Macon. The case was contested and is now before the Supreme Court being reviewed. Details of events just prior to the killing are not known, though it is said several persons witnessed the shooting. Sappington was cashier of Walton Brothers' bank in Seville. Both men were well known. Sheriff Gibbs and Deputy Smith have gone to Seville to arrest Wilson.
