     Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas Means, who were married on February 22, 1882, 
are receiving hearty congratulations from their many friends upon their 
fiftieth wedding anniversary.
     Mr. and Mrs. Means are pioneer residents of Lamar county and are 
recognized throughout this section as outstanding citizens of upright and 
moral character, having throughout their lives taken the stand for the 
betterment of the community, by being loyal supporters in both civic and 
church affairs.
     Due to the recent illness of Mrs. Means, it was necessary to postpone the 
home cemebration of the anniversary as planned by their children.
