Raising Their Own Meat

Mr. J.M. Bevil, a prominent farmer of The Rock community, was in the city 
Saturday last and stated that everything was quiet in his vicinity. He said the 
farmers had killed a large quantity of meat the present season. Mr. Bevil 
himself shows what can be done in this particular. He killed one hog weighing 
590 and one weighing 480. He killed fourteen which netted him 4000 pounds of 
meat. Mr. Bevil has no trouble to dispose of all the meat he can raise. This is 
the way to make arming profitable.
