[sic; should be L.] Burch, formerly a resident of Thomasville, Georgia, died suddenly at a College Park, Georgia, Nursing Home on August 25, 1968. She was the former Elcye [sic; should be Elcy] Means of Barnesville. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon in East Point, Georgia, and interment was in Thomasville by the side of her husband, who preceded his wife in death some years ago. Survivors include five sisters, Misses Hermie and Arcola Means and Mrs. Herman Bankston, all of Atlanta, Mrs. Homer A. Sappington of Barnesville; and Mrs. Thomas Futch of Rochelle, Georgia, and three brothers, Mr. Paul Means and Mr. Hillyer Means, both of Atlanta, Georgia, and Mr. Berner Means of Barnesville. Additional Comments: Elcy Means was born 17 Feb. 1900 in Barnesville, the youngest daughter of John Thomas Means and Annie America (Thurmond) Means. She married Charles Leroy Burch on 24 November 1929 in the parlor of her parents' house in Barnesville. They are buried in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Thomasville, Thomas Co., GA.
