The Rev. John Tate of College Park, former pastor of the First Methodist Church here, was in charge, and burial was in Greenwood cemetery here. Young Cole died Friday afternoon in a Macon hospital from injuries received five weeks ago in a motor-cycle-automobile crash near Dublin. Returning home from motorcycle races there, he was thrown from a machine when he attempted to pass a car, and was struck by a car from the rear, it is said. He has been a patient in the hospital since that time, and was gravely ill from the first. Hundreds of attentions were shown young Cole by interested Barnesville friends during his stay in the hospital. He was unusually well liked here, where he was an employee of a local furniture store. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Ruth Cole, of near Barnesville; two sisters, Irene and Mildred; three brothers, Robert, Homer, and Jimmy; his grandmother, Mrs. R. B. Hamlin of Lamar County, and a number of uncles and aunts.
