Mrs. Crowder was the widow of Mr. W. H. Crowder, Sr., and was born in Pike County. She had lived in Barnesville for 59 years. Mrs. Crowder was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the UMW and served as secretary of the Wesley Bible Class for many years. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Gerald Elliott of Sylva, N. C.; three sons, W. H. Crowder, Jr., J. L. Crowder, both of Barnesville and George W. Crowder of Statesboro; two sisters, Mrs. Edwin Holcombe of Decatur and Mrs. Roy Kirchner of Sylvania; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. L. J. Fisher of Atlanta and Mrs. Albert Fisher of Macon; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral was conducted Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 23, 1975 at 3 o'clock in the First United Methodist church in Barnesville. The Rev. Max Wall officiated and burial was in Greenwood cemetery. Haisten Funeral Home of Barnesville was in charge of plans. The News-Gazette sends sympathy to the family.
