Mrs. Maude Thurmond Hawkins Hall, 84, of Greenwood St., died Monday afternoon at the Griffin-Spalding Hospital, where she had been a patient for about three weeks. Mrs. Hall was a native of Monroe County and had lived in Barnesville for 65 years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Until just the last few months, Mrs. Hall was active for her age, she enjoyed having her friends in her home for a meal. She would go to Florida to see her son and has been to California to see the older son and family. The survivors include two sons, Robert E. Hawkins of Long Beach, Calif., and George A. (Gus) Hawkins of Miami, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Ivan Johnson of Forsyth; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock from the Presbyterian Church. The pastor, the Rev. Jack Mummert officiated with interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Haisten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
