He had been in declining health for several years, but suffered a stroke Saturday and was carried to the hospital Saturday afternoon. Mr. Horne was a native of Monroe County, and had made his home in Barnesville and Lamar County for the past 35 years. He was a retired livestock dealer. He had a host of friends. The survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruby Zeigler Horne; three daughters, Mrs. Chester Waldrop of Macon, Mrs. Charles H. Book, Walcott, Conn., Mrs. Thomas C. Carter of College Park; two sisters, Mrs. J. O. Coleman of Perry, Mrs. C. F. Owen of Culloden; two brothers, Clifford Horne of Douglasville and Clarence Horne of Culloden and four grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Monday morning at 11:00 o'clock from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. The Rev. W. Ethington, pastor of the First Baptist Church, and the Rev. Lloyd Garland of Macon officiated. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Haisten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
