MRS. J. M. MIDDLEBROOKS DIES TUESDAY NIGHT
     Mrs. John Madison Middlebrooks, 75, died at her home on [sic] Zebulon 
Tuesday night after an illness of one week.
     The former Miss Ella McKenzie, Mrs. Middlebrooks was a native of Upson 
County.  She had made her home in Barnesville for the past 40 years and was 
held in high esteem here.  She was a member of the First Methodist Church, a 
member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and a member of the Eastern Star.
     Mrs. Middlebrooks is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Merrill Allen of The 
Rock; four sons, B. W. Middlebrooks of Barnesville, J. H. and C. E. 
Middlebrooks of Jonesboro; and five grandchildren.
     Funeral services were conducted at the First Methodist Church Thursday 
afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, with the Rev. W. R. Sisson, pastor, officiating.  
Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery.

Additional Comments:
Ella McKenzie was the daughter of Washington McKenzie and Elizabeth (Bennett) 
Fitzpatrick.  She m. John Madison Middlebrooks on 13 Nov. 1887 in Upson Co., 
GA.  They are buried at Greenwood Cemetery in Barnesville.
