J. M. MIDDLEBROOKS DIES TUESDAY NIGHT Mrs. John Madison Middlebrooks, 75, died at her home on [sic] Zebulon Tuesday night after an illness of one week. The former Miss Ella McKenzie, Mrs. Middlebrooks was a native of Upson County. She had made her home in Barnesville for the past 40 years and was held in high esteem here. She was a member of the First Methodist Church, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and a member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Middlebrooks is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Merrill Allen of The Rock; four sons, B. W. Middlebrooks of Barnesville, J. H. and C. E. Middlebrooks of Jonesboro; and five grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at the First Methodist Church Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, with the Rev. W. R. Sisson, pastor, officiating. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery.
