Buchanan Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, Sept. 15 at McKoon's Chapel for John H. Buchanan 45, (55) who died in Lawson Veterens Hospital in Atlanta. Burial was in Ebenezer Church Cemetery. The Rev. J.U.Little officiated. The American Legion had charge of the funeral services, and pall bearers were Legionaries. Mr. Buchanan was a resident of Pike County and a veteran. Survivers include his wife, Mrs. Lillian Buchanan, four brothers, C.R.. J.S.and W.B. Buchanan all of Barnesville and W.O. Buchanan of Woodbury. McKoon Funeral Directors were in charge. Transcribed by Harold Buchanan Jr. Military Record of John H. Place of Discharge--Camp Gordon, Ga. No other records were available as a fire destroyed them July 12, 1973. Additional Comments: The obituary below is for his brother John H. Buchanan who was a WW1 veteran also. I have received his military information and have ordered a military marker for his grave as I have found the location of it..
