He was 64. ' Rev. Franklin Gibson and Rev. Charles Smith officiated at the 2:00 p.m. service with interment in Milner Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Roger Cook, Charles Cox, Steven Giddens, Broc Cox, Donnie McKinnely and Scott Laster. Honorary pallbearers were George Martin and Ken Holloman. The deceased was born April 1, 1934 in Irwin County to James Talley and Bessie Purvis Giddens. He attended Irwin County Schools, was an employee of Hudson Chevrolet Co, served in the U.S. Army before moving to Macon where he worked at Jack's Saw Shop and was a salesman for Sunbelt Outdoor Products Co. of Charlotte, N.C. for 27 years. He was known by the nickname , "Slug." He is survived by wife Eleanor Giddens of Milner; children, Lisa Giddens Cook and Greg Giddens of Ocilla, Rhonda Stokes Cox of Warner Robins, Kevin Stokes of Atlanta, Brian Giddens of Milner; eight grandchildren and a brother, Ronald Giddens of Ocilla.
